A Rural/Metro Fire firefighter prepares to draw water from the Rogue River on Thursday during an evaluation exercise at Whitehorse Park. Rural/Metro would be a candidate to provide services under contract if voters agree in the May 18 election to create a new rural fire district outside Grants Pass.
The call came in at 1:36 p.m. last Saturday:

'We feel confident,' Vidlak said. 'We don't want to be arrogant. We throw harder than most kids, but we still need to go out and perform. We feel confident with Isaac and I leading the way. Read More »

Only 10 people showed up for Monday's meeting of the Caveman Peggers cribbage club.
But that was enough for five lively games at a time, the players pairing up randomly to play the first game, then rotating among the socially distanced tables, so that each game was against a different opponent.
Since coronavirus restrictions shut down the cribbage club for most of last year, the players have been determined to get back into action. Read More »
